Single-vision lenses correct for either your distance, intermediate or reading vision and maintain the same prescription throughout the entire lens.

Bifocals offer distance and near vision in one lens. Larger top portion correcting distance vision and a lower segment correcting reading with a cosmetic line separating the two. This reading lens segment in the bottom portion of the lens is offered in a few different widths and blends depending on patient need and preference.

Trifocals are still offered as a great alternative to progressive lenses capturing distance, intermediate and near vision in one lens. A segment at the mid to lower portion of the lens with a cosmetic line separates the intermediate with the second cosmetic line separating the near vision below. This intermediate and reading segment in the mid to bottom portion of the lens is offered in a few different widths depending on patient need and preference.

Progressive (No-Line Bifocals) lenses have a distance correction in the top half and a reading correction in the bottom half of the same lens, with an intermediate region in between. Over the years this gradual transitioning lens offers greater seamless blending and provides a more natural vision correction.

While reading glasses are a low cost and accessible solution for many people, a better solution is prescription lenses made to your specific vision needs. Prescription eyeglasses tailored to each eye are hands-down a better choice than one-size-fits-all readers. Quite often, each eye has a different correctional need, so using basic readers might contribute to eye strain – instead of reducing it.

With complete optical quality readers for $19 including your Rx and a frame there is no need to be straining any longer. Also ask about our 1 hour service!

Both adults and children today spend 7.4 hours a day on average staring at digital screens. Yet traditional glasses are only designed for reading books, not computers. A designated pair of computer glasses provide the most comfort for your eyes and posture. The prescription for this intermediate range is taken from your routine refraction so there is no read to sit for another exam.

Ask one of our highly trained sales associates more about the right computer lenses for daily use.

In addition to prescription eyewear, any pair of eyeglasses can be purchased with non–corrective lenses. These lenses do not offer any field–of–vision correction but do protect against the harmful rays of the sun, work against glare from computers or night driving and are great if you are looking for fashion eyewear.

Single vision lenses are one power from edge to edge. Prescribed for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, they’re the most common type of prescription lens.

Bifocal and trifocal lenses provide two or three focal points in one lens that help you see close-up and faraway. A distinct line in the lens indicates where the prescription changes.

Progressive lenses provide near, intermediate, and distance vision. Also known as no-line bifocals, their progressive transition between distance powers provides more natural vision.

Lens Treatment

Lens treatments can provide you with better vision and improve the life of your prescription eyeglasses lenses.

Scratch Resistant Coating
Most eyeglass lenses today include a scratch resistant coating to help protect against damage. The hard coating or scratch coating is great for children and is standard on polycarbonate lenses.

Mirror Coatings
Highly reflective reflex mirror coatings prevent the eyes of the wearer from being seen by others and are a great way to add some flavor to a pair of prescription sunglasses.

Ultraviolet Treatment
The application of an ultraviolet treatment helps protect the eyes from the harmful rays of the sun. This treatment is simple and quick to apply to most plastic eyeglass lenses without affecting the appearance. Several lens materials such as polycarbonate, hi-index and trivex do not require an additional UV treatment due to the inherent property of the lens material.
